Dr. Poindexter believes that “poor hearing causes you to miss out of life’s most precious moments.” She knows this well, having grown up with a deaf grandmother; one who inspired her to help people with hearing loss get the most out of life. She is board certified by the American Board of Audiology and holds a dispensing audiologist license in the state of California.

Dr. Poindexter completed her audiology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, CA, and received her Doctor of Audiology degree from A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Health Sciences, Mesa, AZ. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Audiology from California State University, Sacramento, CA, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and Speech Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO.

She is actively involved with the California Academy of Audiology, as a regional representative, and is a good liaison for audiologists in the Northern California area. When she isn’t at work, you might find her snowboarding, surfing, riding her bike, traveling, sewing and spending quality time with her family.
