Darcy Benson, Au.D., Doctor of Audiology

Audiologist, Dr. Darcy Benson, owner of the California Hearing Center, brings a dedication to the field of hearing care that stretches far beyond her practice. She received her undergraduate training in Audiology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders at Colorado State University, and most recently her Doctor of Audiology degree at Salus University in Pennsylvania. She was the former Director of Audiology for the California Ear Institute in Palo Alto, CA and a clinical researcher at ReSound Corp. in Redwood City. Dr. Benson has been a consultant for a variety of hearing aid manufacturers, carrying out research on new technology and fitting systems. As a member of the board of directors of the California Academy of Audiology, she helped advocate for the needs of the hard of hearing in the state. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists, and the California Academy of Audiology. Dr. Benson's research has been published numerous times in professional journals and she has contributed to textbooks currently in use in audiology training programs.  As a native of the peninsula, she is dedicated to the hearing care needs of the community.

Ramsay Poindexter, M.S., Audiologist

Ramsay Poindexter has been enthusiastically serving the needs of the hearing impaired for over seven years. She became interested in the field of audiology as her grandmother was deaf. She was formerly part of the audiology staff at the University of California, San Francisco where she worked with both a pediatric and adult population. She has specialty training in intra-operative monitoring for a variety of surgical specialties. She is a Fellow and member of the American Academy of Audiology, a member of the American Auditory Society and the California Academy of Audiology.

Dawn has a passion for helping people hear the best possible with whatever hearing they have   Known for her grace and charm, she provides information and solutions in a friendly and professional manner.  Dawn is a California state-licensed and board-certified hearing instrument specialist and a certified audiology assistant.  She has been with California Hearing Center since 2000.  Dawn completes continuing education hours yearly to ensure she is up to date with all the latest advances in hearing technology.  Her specialties include assistive devices using Bluetooth connectivity for bridging the gap between hearing devices and consumer electronics.  As a singer, she is also concerned with hearing protection and specializes in Musician's earplugs, in-ear monitors, and earphone sleeves.
